Whether you like to “rock around the Christmas Tree” or you want to just sit and admire your tree while enjoying a warm cup of mulled wine, you first need to make sure it looks incredible.
Here are our top 3 tips to decorate your Christmas Tree and help make your Christmas magical.
To decorate a beautiful Christmas tree you should decide on an overall vision for your fir. This could be anything from a more traditional look, like a brightly coloured red, green, and gold one, or an all-white extravaganza, to a colour coordinated tree that matches your home. You can even base your Christmas Tree on a specific theme like candy canes, disco balls, or your favourite Christmas film. To really add a festive touch, why not add dried winter fruits and spices to keep your home smelling of Christmas the whole festive season.
A Christmas Tree would be incomplete without fairy lights. But, before you get anywhere near your tree, make sure you check the lights are working! There’s nothing worse than finishing decorating your tree only to have to start all over again!
Starting at the end without the plug, begin placing your lights at the top of the tree and move in circles downwards around the tree, randomly stringing your lights around the branches. Make sure to step back to admire your work every so often to keep an eye out for any darker spots that may need adjustment.
Lastly, you need decorations to really spruce up your spruce! There are tonnes of tree decorations to choose from and your selection should mostly be dictated by your theme. Ensuring that everything aligns with this will really bring the whole vision together. Try grouping your smaller decorations in threes and separate the larger items for a professional finish.
There is one last thing you can do to bring your tree to a whole new level - introduce a tree skirt. This is something you place around the base of your tree and comes in a variety of styles, such as snow effect, wicker, or material that matches the colours of your theme. This final touch will really make your Christmas tree stand out and look absolutely fabulous surrounded by presents.
